Blog Post 3 ... iDemand

Everything that we have in this world today ranging from clothing appearal to technology revolves around the demand of the consumer. Audience demand decides what is sold in retails stores in order to function our every day life. In the 1920s' the radio played a important role in the initiaton of consumer demand , and if they failed to accomplish this goal the industry would have surelly been unsuccessful. The radio industry resorted to advertising to sell products to the demanding audience who boosted the rating of the radio prgrams making the radio industry a huge success.

Beginning in 1906 wih the first innovations produced by Lee de Forests' vacuum tube , which allowed the radio to produce sound, voice, and music, the radio has been continuosly transforming into different stages. The radio feeds listners what they fell comfortable with such as those who demanded drama felt soap operas like As the World Turns, radio gave listners a sense of imagination. Even though they couldn't see the actor/actress of the show the radio allowed them to picture the people  just as they would be comfortable doing so.
