GLOBALIZATION & GLOCALIZATION

Globalization is the concept of different nations, cultures and people interact through network communication and trade. This term is closely ties with the term economic globalization which includes connect between trade,migration, foreign investment, technology, etc.


In terms of globalization , the concept of glocalization is introduced. Glocalization is the concept of a good or service produced and distributed in different part of the world. Even though the concept of the good or service is thought to be the same there might be some slight difference depending on the cultural influences in which the product or service is located.

Example:  THE ABOVE PICTURE IS THE FAMOUS BURGER KING LOCATED IN LEICESTER SQUARE, LONDON. BURGER KING IS ORIGINALLY AN AMERICAN  BASED RESTAURANT ORIGINATING FROM MIAMI- DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA. THEY BEGAN TO GLOCALIZE THEIR BUSINESS TO COUNTRIES SUCH AS JAPAN , PUERTO RICA, TAIWAN, AND SINGAPORE, AND LONDON.

New Dentyne Ice Commercial (sex & safety)

The ad I decided too choose is the 2010 Dentyne Ice Commercial. This commercial alludes to the idea of " Practice Safe Breath" . I believe that this Commercial is both powerful and persuasive towards the audience. The directors utilize the appeal of sex affiliation as well (in my belief ) safety. They use sex as the basis of the commerical in order to imply that the power of the gum will bring sexual attraction and also make the situation a positive and well prepared moment. The gum is being compared to a condom used for protection during these different sexual scenes. It uses is power to also persuade consumers that you must use this gum before you have sex or come in any intimate contact with the opposite sex. They also persuade the viewers that they must practice safe sex also. Because of the comparison between the gum and a condom they teach that because this gum has brought you to this sexual point and its the best thing that will ever happen to you, the use of a condom should always play the main role when it comes to sex.
